How do I receive a travel discount?

First you will need to join Hotels Etc. by visiting https://www.hotelsetc.com/membership  at which point you will have access to our online booking engines. Simply search, book and enjoy your savings. Our booking engines offer the same technology as the public engines, the only difference is we only offer wholesale - net rates by eliminating the middle man.

How many months does one discount membership last?

Monthly memberships are valid for one full month and will auto renew on your enrollment anniversary unless you cancel.

How many hotel rooms is one card valid for? Can I book discounted hotels for my colleague too?

One membership card can book up to 2 rooms at one hotel. This means that you cannot book one room for you and one for your colleague, the second person needs a card of their own. How can I make my reservation?

We offer the same exact booking procedures as the large public sites like expedia.com. Simply search our booking engines and make your reservation. Our system is just as secured as the bigger companies the only difference is our inventory is discounts by up to 80% off the public rates. If you are using our discount directory then you will be provided with instructions to redeem that particular discount which may include using a promo code, discount code, corporate code, presenting your membership card and etc.

Can I call Hotels Etc. office to make a reservation?

No, you will need to use our online booking engines or if instructed call the hotel direct. Hotels Etc. does not reserve or cancel reservations. Once you have completed your booking you will receive a phone number to the reservation department to help you in the event you need to cancel or modify reservations.

Why would I pay for a membership card and not just search online for the discount?

The discounts that are available in our system are not available anywhere online. We typically dominate the public rates 9/10 times by up to 75% off. Hotels Etc. has very strict quality control to ensure that every discount provider in our system offers our members a discount not available to the public. We do not make companies pay us commissions instead we give you the best discount and we generate our profits from the membership fee.

Is the cardholder the only person who can use the card?

You can allow your spouse to use the membership card and we will confirm it with our partner if they attempt to verify.

If I purchase the card through the company, can I then use it for private travels?

Yes, of course! There are no limitations as to how often you can use the card or to the purpose of the travel. Regardless if you travel every day or one time every 10 years you will still receive the same benefit from your Hotels Etc. membership card.

Are membership cards renewed automatically or where do I do so?

The annual membership cards that are purchased online are automatically renewed. In the event you purchased offline then your membership will not renew automatically. If you are a lifetime member there no renewal or annual dues!

Why would any company give these types of discounts?

Because we are a private closed loop program which allows businesses to give a deeper discount because they know it is not available to everyone. There is also no advertising expense with our providers, they don’t pay us for placement or inclusions, the discount they provide is considered the payment to us.

I receive reward points for hotel stays; will I still receive my points using this discount?

We have our own built in rewards program which allows you to earn free vacations. If you have a rewards program for a particular brand then you will have to request the points at arrival. In most cases the property will approve it. If you have a credit card that allows you to earn cash back or points then you can double dip by using your credit card and Hotels Etc program to receive double points and deeper savings.

Exactly what hotels participate with Hotels Etc.

There are hundreds of thousands of Hotels that are part of the Hotels Etc. membership program and there is no way we can list them all here. We basically have all the same properties that you would find on the other public booking sites. All brands from1-5 star properties.

If your Hotels Etc. membership card contains the following numbers, you NEED to upgrade in order to access the new Hotels Etc. members website. If you have one of the following member ID numbers, please read the rest of this page. You can learn more at www.hotelsetc.com/upgrade

If you do not have one of these numbers and are having issues activating because your card does not have a CSV, silver members enter 000 and gold members enter 555 during activation.

How do I change or cancel a reservation?

If you booked a reservation through the Red Engine (Membership Club) you will need to call their reservation department at 1-858-999-8206.

Do my reward points expire?

Your points never expire as long as your account remains active. If you decided to cancel your account then your points cancel so we encourage you to use your points first before you cancel.

How do I cancel a reservation/

Each hotel sets their own cancellation terms which are displayed under the terms on each property. If you need to cancel or alter your reservations you will need to call the reservation department phone number that was listed in your email confirmation. Hotels Etc. corporate office does not make or cancel reservations via phone. You will have to call the reservation department directly. How do I reset my password?

You are not able to change your passwords inside the booking engines, you have to change it on your Hotels Etc. account page.

What steps can travelers take to protect themselves from COVID-19?

Leading health authorities are urging the same personal best practices that are standard for a typical flu season, such as the following:

  • Avoid close contact with people who show signs of illness, including coughing or sneezing
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
  • Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available

What should I expect when I board my cruise?

To ensure the safety of all guests, cruise lines have enhanced their preventative screening process for embarkation. Including robust outbreak prevention and response plans, including procedures to provide care for and isolate passengers and crew if needed.

Additionally, all guests may be subject to random screening at any time while aboard. If a guest exhibits signs of illness, temperature screenings will be taken and medical support provided as needed.


How will I know if my cruise itinerary is impacted by the virus?

We are working closely with the cruise lines to keep you informed about the Coronavirus outbreak and how it may affect some of our members’ travel plans. As cruise lines announce cancellations or changes to their itineraries, we will immediately reach out to you via email and/or phone if your sailing has been impacted. A travel agent will discuss your options and assist you with the next steps on your booking.


Can I cancel my cruise if my itinerary is impacted?

Some impacts are more significant than others. If your sailing is canceled due to a travel advisory, we will notify you and work with you to make any cancellations or changes.

Some itineraries are adjusted by the cruise line with a simple port change within the itinerary. If the cruise line cancels your itinerary entirely, they may give you credit for a future cruise, or perhaps a full refund. Should I cancel my cruise?

If you are a healthy young person, there is no reason to avoid a cruise vacation. While the decision to cancel your cruise is a personal one, most cruise lines are offering flexible payment and cancellation terms as well as optional itineraries to allow customers more time to make decisions about travel. In most cases, rescheduling your trip to a later date may be an alternative.

Please be assured that cruise lines are working diligently to ensure your health and safety is the number one priority, from increased customer communications to enhanced pre-board screening and onboard sanitation measures.


What steps are being taken to prevent the spread of Coronavirus?

All terminal and ship access points are being thoroughly sanitized before and after all sailings. Most terminals and ship access points are making daily announcements to remind guests to wash their hands often, use recommended coughing etiquette, and report any illness symptoms immediately.
